What To Get Rid of When You Are Spring Cleaning

Whether you love it or hate it, spring cleaning season is here!

If you're a fan of The Home Edit, you know that the first step to cleaning and reorganizing is to "edit" out what you don't need anymore. Your life doesn't have to be completely minimalist; however, getting rid of a few things could be exactly what you need to feel good in your space again!

  1. Clothes: If you can't make an outfit with it in the moment, does it deserve a spot in your life?

  2. Shoes: Do you realllly need those pair of boots in both colors? (Sometimes you do, and that's okay, too!)

  3. Candles: Have you been hanging on to that one candle because you got it as a gift but hate the scent? It has to go...

  4. Food: we all accumulate those weird canned items or trail mix we never eat. Donate!

  5. Blankets: Blankets, sheet sets, quilts — they take up a lot of space! Are there nay that you can part with?

  6. Beauty + Skincare products: What aren't you using anymore? Throw away expired products or donate anything that's unopened.

  7. Decor Pieces: Are there pieces that are taking up too much or don't make you happy anymore?

  8. Kitchen Gadgets: We all fall for a cool kitchen gadget buy on Amazon, don't we? Audit all the kitchen tools you use commonly and edit out the ones you don't.

  9. Books: Are there any you are done reading that you didn't love?

  10. Papers: I might need this one insurance paper? Take a look at the paperwork you are holding on to and see if it's able to be shredded.
