10 Things To Do on a Rainy Spring Day in St. Pete

It's official: we've hit rainy season here in sunny St. Pete! While sometimes the rain quickly passes, it does affect your day plans, even if it's just for an hour or two! Plus, the cloudy full days are no fun to spend outside either. While we should be lying on a beach somewhere or going for a hot girl walk to get some good, bad tanlines...we are stuck trying to find a better activity.

Don't spend your entire rainy day looking for fun ideas. Instead, use this list as a guide for what you should do to fill up your rainy day in St. Petersburg, FL!

Grab a drink

A coffee, a healthy smoothie, and/or a cocktail — Tampa Bay is for the beverage girlies. Here are our favorites lately:

  1. Intermezzo Coffee & Cocktails / Bar Mezzo

  2. Paradeco Coffee Roasters

  3. Book + Bottle

  4. Three Daughter's Brewery

  5. Black Crow Coffee Co Grand Central Dist

Visit a museum

St. Petersburg, FL has the most underrated museum scene! There are such fun options, let's scan through a few:

  1. The Dalí Museum (Salvador Dalí’s art) - This museum is stunning from the cafe, to the building design, to OF COURSE the art! It's definitely one you don't want to miss.

  2. The Imagine Museum (glass art!) - Even if you aren't into art, this one is a must-see. Book your tickets in advance if you can because this one does fill up fast.

  3. St. Petersburg Museum of History - This one is right on the St. Pete Pier, so you can get in some rainy waterfront views (from a distance of course!) on the short walk from the parking lot to the building!

  4. Museum of Fine Arts - This is the only museum I haven't been to personally, so I can only speak on the location! It's right in the heart of downtown, so you can take your umbrella and grab lunch afterward!

Go to the Library

A rainy day and curling up with a good book? What's better than that? I do usually read on my Kindle, but when I want to switch it up or get a paperback, I always head to the library and grab a few. Here are my favorite libraries in the area:

  1. Mirror Lake Community Library

  2. St. Pete Beach Public Library

  3. Clearwater Main Library

  4. Safety Harbor Public Library

Get a bite to Eat

Even the outdoor spots usually have a place to hide from the rain! Grab lunch or a snack and watch the clouds roll in. Here are a few spots I can't leave out of the conversation in downtown St. Pete:

  1. Cassis St. Pete

  2. Teak

  3. Juno & The Peacock

  4. The Hangar Restaurant & Flight Lounge

  5. The Library
