How To Support The Tampa Bay Community After Hurricane Milton

With the majority of our team being located or from the Tampa Bay area, we know firsthand how difficult this hurricane season has been for the entire state of Florida. With both Helene and Milton hitting our area in different ways, it's heartbreaking to see our Tampa Bay cities and communities hurting.

This can also be a great time to help out the community where you can. Here is a list of ways you can get involved with supporting the Tampa Bay community through hurricane clean up.

Support Local

Shop at local businesses that are open during this time. Every business has been impacted in different ways, whether that's physical damage to their inventory and/or storefront, or a loss of income with decreased foot traffic and closures from the hurricane. By shopping locally, you're helping keep those businesses afloat and supporting your community. You're investing back into the community — the business owners, their families, and their employees.

Volunteer

If you're able, this is a great way to help out in a hands-on way! You can help with debris and beach clean-ups, or even help out a fellow neighbor if you're not looking for anything too formal. You can sign up to be a volunteer and check out the opportunities online here: volunteerflorida.org/volunteerconnect

Donate Supplies

While not all places are accepting material donations at this time, there are some that are. Here are the organizations accepting donations according to the Stuff To Do In Tampa Bay:

  1. Baby2Baby

  2. The Humane Society

  3. World Central Kitchen

  4. Save The Children

  5. Direct Relief

  6. Aerial Relief

Monetary Donations

Find local and state donation opportunities to donate to. Here are a few to think about:

  1. Florida Disaster Relief Fund: volunteerflorida.org/donatefdf.

  2. We Are St. Pete Fund: https://pinellascf.org/wearestpete/

  3. Feeding Tampa Bay: https://feedingtampabay.org/ways-we-serve/disaster-relief

  4. The Human Society: humanesociety.org.

  5. Internal Medical Corps: internationalmedicalcorps.org/hurricanes-help

  6. Project HOPE: www.projecthope.org/milton2024

While the road to recovery after these hurricanes will be long, our community's strength will shine through. Whether it's supporting local businesses, volunteering, or making donations, every little effort counts.

Together, we can rebuild Tampa Bay!
