Your December Self-Care Day: Planned
We love the holiday season, we really do! However, we can't ignore the conversation we very rarely have: It can be draining.
Dealing with the in-laws, the perfect gift search, planning that ugly sweater party, baking (and perhaps always burning...oops!) those holiday cookies...it all can add up. And let's not forget that work is thrown into that mix as well. We all want to finish strong in Q4, and that takes a lot out of us, too! In other words, I love her but she kind of a problem (We know this audio isn't trending anymore, but it's always trending in our hearts, okay.)
It can take a toll on your mental health IF you don't take time for yourself this holiday season. Have you ever heard that lazy days can lead to productivity? They mean it! Our brain needs breaks. What a better way to take a break than to have a self-care day.
Now, we know that's just one more thing to plan. So, steal this self-care day itinerary instead:
Do a workout class
Stop at Target for the self-care day essentials: skincare, face masks, that nail polish color you were eyeing up, a holiday candle, the ingredients to your favorite mocktail, and maybe a sweet treat or two.
Grab a Starbucks Peppermint Mocha on your out the door
Go to Trader Joe's, make yourself a flower arrangement and grab something fun for lunch
Head home!
Take an everything shower, before putting on your favorite pj set
Turn on your holiday Spotify playlist, or your favorite Hallmark movie and start your self-care routine
Even if your self-care day looks a bit different than this, make time for it! A self-care day can look different for everyone. Even if yours is just turning on Love Hard and ordering DoorDash, do it! It's all about you on this day so do what makes you happy.
Snooze those notifications, listen to your body, and take some much needed decompress time.
