The Ultimate Spring Cleaning Checklist

Spring is in the air, and so is...the dust!

Here's the ultimate spring cleaning list for the busy entrepreneur to get everything checked off and you can get back to work feeling clean and refreshed for the season.

Home

  1. Declutter all rooms, sorting items into keep, donate, and throw-away piles

  2. Dust all surfaces

  3. Vacuum or sweep and mop all floors

  4. Wash windows

  5. Flip or rotate mattresses

  6. Clean and vacuum upholstered furniture

  7. Disinfect frequently touched surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, and remote controls

  8. Clean and disinfect appliances, including the oven, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher

  9. Organize the pantry, fridge, and freezer

  10. Wash and sanitize reusable grocery bags

  11. Clean and organize cabinets and drawers

  12. Wash shower curtains and bath mats

  13. Replace or clean shower curtain liners

  14. Check and replace any old or expired toiletries and medications

  15. Clean and disinfect toothbrush holders and soap dishes

  16. Wash and disinfect bathroom rugs

  17. Rotate seasonal clothing

Computer

  1. Review your files and folders, deleting any unnecessary or outdated ones

  2. Organize remaining files into logical folders for easy access

  3. Consider using a naming convention to help you quickly find files

  4. Clean up your desktop by removing any files or shortcuts you no longer need

  5. Empty the Recycle Bin or Trash to permanently delete files

  6. Delete temporary files and caches that accumulate over time. You can use built-in tools or third-party software for this purpose

  7. Ensure important files are backed up to an external hard drive, cloud storage, or another secure location

  8. Sort through your email inbox and archive or delete old messages

  9. Unsubscribe from newsletters or mailing lists you no longer wish to receive

  10. Organize emails into folders and use filters to manage incoming messages more efficiently

  11. Organize shortcuts on your desktop and remove any unused ones

  12. Customize your taskbar by removing unnecessary icons and rearranging them for easier access

  13. Use a tech wipe to clean the computer surfaces and keyboard

Phone

  1. Clean out any apps you don't need or use

  2. Clear cache and unnecessary data from apps to free up storage space

  3. Arrange apps on your home screen and in the app drawer into folders or categories for easier access

  4. Remove any unnecessary widgets or shortcuts from your home screen

  5. Backup your photos and videos to cloud storage or transfer them to your computer to free up space on your device

  6. Delete old text messages, multimedia messages, and emails to free up space in your messaging and email apps

  7. Archive important messages or emails if needed

  8. Review your contacts list

  9. Create albums or folders to organize your photos and videos.

  10. Delete blurry or unnecessary photos and videos

  11. Use a tech wipe to clean the screen and body of your phone

Office

  1. Clear off your desk completely.

  2. Wipe down your desk, keyboard, mouse, and monitor with disinfectant wipes

  3. Organize desk supplies such as pens, pencils, staplers, and paper clips

  4. Clean out desk drawers, removing clutter and organizing contents

  5. Consider investing in desk organizers or trays to keep items neat and accessible.

  6. Archive or shred old documents

  7. Label file folders and cabinets for easy access

  8. Consider digitizing important documents

  9. Dust bookshelves and wipe down storage bins or containers

  10. Take inventory of office supplies such as paper, ink cartridges, and envelopes

  11. Dispose of dried-up pens, markers, and other unusable items

  12. Restock supplies as needed and organize them in designated areas

Car

  1. Spin through the cash wash to get the outside shiny

  2. Remove all trash and clutter from the interior of the car, including the glove compartment and door pockets.

  3. Vacuum the floors, seats, and upholstery

  4. Wipe down all surfaces

  5. Check your supplies (first aid kit, safety items, makeup bags, etc)
