The Taylor Swift Effect

Are we using this as another excuse to talk about all things TSwift? Absolutely.

Not even in our wildest dreams did we think Taylor Swift would be the queen of the NFL, too, but it's definitely happening. I think we know all too well about Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chief's tight end, Travis Kelce, and their ehem* unconfirmed relationship on literally every news and media site known to women these days! But, this pair is going beyond just a causal convertible ride and into a serious collab we all needed to see.

Taylor is taking the sports world by storm, creating what many are calling the Taylor Swift Effect on all things football, the NFL, and Travis Kelce! We are going over our favorite highlights that are happening with Taylor's Swift's NFL debut...

Here are some things that we 🫶 about this...

NFL Announcer's Song References

We love a song pun and a TSwift reference, ALWAYS! If you've been watching the broadcasts, you'll notice the announcer's slipping song reference after song reference to honor Taylor!

NFL Bio Change

We love a reactive marketing move! The NFL is quickly diving into Swiftie status after changing their X (formerly Twitter) bio after her first appearance, as well as making her the star of their social channels over the past few weeks!

Ticket Prices

Taylor is used to sold-out stadiums, so it's no surprise that the Taylor effect has now hit ticket prices. Everyone wants to be in the same building as TSwift herself, so of course, ticket sales and prices are both on the rise!

Views

Taylor's appearance at the games is also working wonders for their game viewership and targetting new audiences, as "Viewership for the Chiefs' Sept. 24 game, when Swift first attended, spiked 63% week-over-week among women ages 18-49."

Jersey Sales

Travis Kelce is now in the top-five jersey sales within the Chief's Kingdom shop. Not to mention an increase in custom jerseys!

YouTube TV's Taylor-Inspired Progress Bar

YouTube updated their progress bar to Taylor's signature heart-hands for the live streaming of the Chief's game last Sunday.

These are a few of our favorite ways that Taylor is doing what Taylor does! We don't expect it to slow anytime soon, either. Let us know what your favorite thing about the sports world (Taylor's version) on Instagram!
