Our Charleston Trip Recap

In April, we got the chance to meet the other half of our podcast, Hashtag Managed, Madeleine from The Buzzing Blonde!

Jess + Maddie have been business besties for over 7 years, and Maddie even officially joined the podcast team at the beginning of the year, but they have NEVER. MET. IN. PERSON. A content shoot was the perfect chance for the duo to meet!

Even though we had a little crazy travel bumps in the road (when don’t we, right?!) thrown into the mix, we fell in love with Charleston and have to fill you in on everything we did!

The Highlights

Meeting Maddie IRL was so much fun! We had a bit of a crazy travel day between all of us in attendance of this day, listen to that episode recap here, but we of course recorded our meeting because everything is content.

Favorite Spots + Shops

Candlefish is one of my favorite candle stores, because it smells so good inside. Candles = the best thing to buy on a trip. My favorite scent from here is No. 83! But honestly, it's so fun to walk down King St to soak up the Charleston vibes, shop, and spots.

Favorite Content Piece

We rented this cute Airbnb for the night, and it had sooo many pro's. One of my favorite parts of it was the bedrooms. We had a Pinterest mood board full of inspiration photos, and one of them was a glamorous shot of us, in robes, hair wrapped in towels, full glam, and in the zone a.k.a. working. It was so fun!

The Highlights

Meeting Jessica and Harmony was undoubtedly the highlight of our 'brand trip.' Our weekly meetings and recordings always brighten my week, so having the opportunity to transition them from online to in-person was truly special. Additionally, I enjoyed exploring my own city as a tourist. Every day, I wake up feeling grateful for the chance to experience life akin to a story from a Nicholas Sparks book or movie, and sharing that with friends is always immensely enjoyable.

Favorite Spots + Shops

Jessica and Harmony both know I want to host them again in Charleston sometime soon because 48 hours wasn't enough time for me to take them around to all my favorite spots and shops. Nevertheless, we made it work, and I was still able to take them to a few of my favorite spots, including Little Palm, Basic Kitchen, and Grit & Grace.

Favorite Content Piece

The second part of our photoshoot was shot at Little Palm, which, as listed above, is one of my favorite spots in Charleston. Ever since discovering this hidden gem when my husband Brennan and I first moved to Charleston, I have envisioned doing a photoshoot there. The interior was designed by one of my favorite Charleston interior designers, Cortney Bishop, who truly understands how to bring a brand to life within the walls of any of her projects.

I mean come on, have you seen these pictures?!?
