8 Ways to Support Small Business Owners During the Holidays

The best way to spread holiday cheer is to...SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESSES!

If you're anything like us, holiday mode is already in full swing! We are diving into holiday campaign planning, Q4 strategizing, and of course, prepping for Black Friday. While the holidays are so busy and filled with fun, we don't want to forget about our small businesses! So many of us are connected to small businesses - whether you are a business owner yourself or looking to support, we all have them in a special place in our hearts.

In between your hallmark marathon binging, here are some small ways to have a big impact on small businesses this holiday season!

Order ahead

Business fluxes are common during the holidays! If you want to order from a small business, order ahead so they can (1) have enough time to complete your order before the holidays (2) spread out the flux of orders closer to the actual holidays.

Buy gift cards

If you want to support them but also want to give them a bit of a break during the holidays, a gift card can be a great way to support them now without putting the workload on them right away!

Share their content

Not all support has to be monetary! We all know the power of social media, and sharing someone's post is free and easy. Reshare their Instagram post to your story, post the link to their holiday event on your Facebook page, post their poster up in your restaurant.

Interact with their content

Comment, like, send! Again, it's free. Be a hype girl in the comments section, send to a friend who you think would enjoy their content, turn your post notifications on for them.

Host your holiday event with them

If they have a brick-and-mortar location, ask if they hold holiday events so you can bring them some extra business during this time!

Don't ask for discounts

We know that Black Friday is a busy time for discounts, but don't ask for a discount just to get a discount! We know all the work that goes into what they do, so that's why their pricing is set the way it is.

Write a positive review

Testimonials speak WONDERS! Who doesn't love to read reviews of a product or service? You could end up being a huge decision-maker for someone else to purchase!

Attend their holiday events

Show up and support if you know they are hosting a holiday event!

As we wrap up this blog post, remember that your support can make a significant impact on the success of all kinds of small businesses! This holiday season, let's not just deck the halls with festive decorations, but also deck the shops of our small business community with love and support!
